We have started using Colorado Pine Beetle Kill wood (Called Blue Wood) for some of our products

The Blue Wood used is considered a GREEN resource. The wood is harvested only from standing dead trees. No live trees are cut for this purpose. We hope using this wood will in some small way brings some good from the devastation brought by this plague on our pine forests.
This Blue Wood is treasured for its naturally induced blue stains. It seems mother nature has a silver lining in most clouds. These stains are a naturally produced side effect of the beetle infestation of the tree. While most of the furniture built using this wood has a natural rustic look sometimes the colors and grain patterns lead to a very high end look.
